Vehicle platforms connect antenna placement, receiver behavior, cable routing, controller interfaces and the operating environment. Before a configuration is compared, the review should capture the platform role and the information needed to understand the full navigation chain.

Start with the platform and operating context

Record whether the vehicle supports logistics, inspection, survey, industrial operations or another commercial workflow. Note roof or mast location, nearby metallic structures, payload equipment, service access and the normal operating area. Open road, built-up areas, industrial yards and tree-lined routes can create different installation questions without proving a particular outcome.

Map the antenna-to-controller path

Document the candidate antenna location, cable path, receiver model or architecture, requested constellations and bands, power source, navigation outputs and controller interface. The vehicle controller may use position, velocity, timing or status information differently from a survey workflow; that distinction should be explicit.

Review installation constraints before selection

Mounting stiffness, connector protection, cable service loops, grounding approach and maintenance access should be identified alongside the navigation requirements. If the vehicle includes electronics, motors, inverters, communications equipment or changing payloads, record them as review inputs rather than inferring a final configuration from a generic diagram.
